PicoSure Tattoo Removal

What is PicoSure?

PicoSure is a versatile FDA-cleared laser that's most widely used to remove tattoos, but it can also be used to treat pigmentation spots as well as fine lines and acne scars.

It uses “pigment-seeking technology” to locate over pigmented spots or ink. The device converts laser light energy into short, controlled pulses of pressure that break down pigment into more easily absorbed particles, which are then carried away by the body's lymphatic system.

The laser's pulses release energy in a picosecond (one trillionth of a second), hence its name. These quick bursts make it less likely to burn, so it's safe for all skin types. (Many patients with dark skin haven't been able to use other laser treatments without the risk of hyperpigmentation or burning.)

The laser can treat larger areas more quickly than other lasers. The applicator's largest spot size is 15.5 millimeters, almost four times bigger than that of other lasers on the market.
There's no downtime post-treatment—though for the first week after tattoo removal, you'll have a wound with scabbing and dressings that need to be changed.
There's no guarantee that tattoos or unwanted pigments will fully disappear.
It can be a lengthy process. Like all laser tattoo removal treatments, PicoSure takes multiple sessions to achieve maximum results.
PicoSure may be better at removing previously treated tattoos (even those treated multiple times) than traditional Q-switched lasers.

PicoSure is the world's first picosecond laser and the only PressureWave technology that works with your body to remove excess ink.

Selective "shattering" with PressureWave
PicoSure delivers laser energy that specifically targets tattoo ink, resulting in the successful shattering of just the ink particles without harming the surrounding tissue. PressureWave is the secret behind tattoo treatments with PicoSure.

PicoSure works effectively on:

- Multicolored tattoos, including blues and greens
- Hard-to-remove black ink
- Stubborn, previously treated tattoos

Best of all, PicoSure tattoo removal often requires fewer treatments than traditional laser tattoo removal.

How does a PicoSure treatment work?
During treatment with PicoSure, ultra-short (trillionths of a second) pulses target ink particles with PressureWave technology - a pressure so powerful, the ink shatters into tiny dust-like particles. These microscopic particles are more rapidly absorbed and eliminated naturally by the body.

Lose the ink, faster, with PicoSure

- Fast treatment times of typically 10 minutes
- Number of treatments needed is dependent on variables such as ink characteristics, size of tattoo, location on body, and lifestyle habits
- Treatments typically occur every 6-8 weeks*
* Your treatment provider will develop a treatment plan to meet your individual needs.

Patients and treatment providers have reported better clearance of tattoos with improved recovery time. So you can expect excellent results with PicoSure.
